Violin and beginner piano

Hi, I’m Maxim!

I studied Music as an undergraduate at the University of York, and completed a postgraduate diploma in performance practice before heading back down to London to do my Masters in Baroque Violin at the Royal College of Music.

Now I love the contrast my life provides, combining regular performance work as a professional baroque violinist with a busy weekday schedule working with children and young beginner violinists, helping them find their inner music-lover and expressing this through violin-playing. I am a great believer that we are all inherently musical through the way we communicate everyday, and using these natural instincts to learn how the violin, and music in general, works is something which I love showing people of all ages.

I have also always held a fondness for the piano and grew-up obsessively playing it at home since achieving my Grade 8 before going to uni. The piano has such a separate range of capabilities for musical pleasure, and has been such a vital companion to my musical upbringing, I would love to share this passion with others as well.
